Maintenance allowance
During the period of your vocational training, you are entitled to a monthly maintenance allowance, in addition to the pension that is paid to you. The rate of the maintenance allowance is determined according to the number of study hours per week (minimum 9 hours per week), the number of children dependent on you, and the distance from your residence to the training location. Payment of the maintenance allowance is subject to the signed monthly attendance report.
The maintenance allowance is at the rate of 25%-50% of the average wage in the economy.
Additional payments
In addition to the maintenance allowance, the NII will pay your tuition fees, travel expenses on public transportation and expenses for books and equipment needed for your studies as welll as private tutoring as needed. If the school you attend is more than 40 km. from your place of residence and you must seek accommodation outside your home, the NII will pay for your accommodation or housing, in accordance with regulations and in accordance with the amounts determined and authorized in advance by your rehabilitation officer.
Accessibility and support services during your studies
For persons with severe disabilities which limit their access to studies, accessibility and support services have been created which are designed to make the learning process easier, such as translation into sign language, transcriptions and reading-out of printed material.
Advance on survivors’ / dependents’ pension
There is an option for receiving an advance on the pension that is paid to you, for the purpose of implementing your rehabilitation program. The amounts and conditions of the advance payment are determined by law and regulations.
